Les Arts Decoratifs, Angelinas, La Pagode

On wednesday afternoon I met up with Georgia, and we went to Les Arts Decoratifs a big museum on the rue de Rivoli. They had a jewellery exhibition on that Georgia was keen to see by Van Cleef & Arpels, a very high end french jewellery companyThey had loads of necklaces, bracelets, broaches and a princesses crown all encrusted with the most beautiful diamonds, rubies, emeralds and saphires. Some of the diamonds were absolutely huge, which we saw only once we shoved ourselves through amongst all the little old ladies who were there.

We then went upstairs to see the Fashioning Fashion Exhibition which showcased 2 centuries of European fashion. It was displayed beautifully on mannequins in glass cases, and there were loads of mirrors everywhere too, it felt a bit like a mirror maze and I think at night would be pretty creepy. There were lots of lovely dresses and then corsets which emphasised their such tiny waists! There were a few male outfits too. We then went to Angelinas, as it was just so close by! The café where Coco Chanel used to hang out. We shared a hot chocolate as they are so so rich. It also came with whipped cream : ) And we each had a pastry, one Paris New York and a Tarte Agrumes Passion, one filled with praline cream, and the other a gorgeous passion fruit soft filling. Combined with the hot chocolate, it was divine!

I then went to meet Claudia at Saint-Francois Xavier and we went to La Pagode, a little independant cinema built in 1896 which looks to all like a genuine chinese Pagode from the outside. It really is beautiful, there is a little garden by the side too with statues and bamboo growing. We went to see Happiness Therapy with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KIqvwcc1e0 The auditorium was really nice, they had golden decorations on the walls and murals and really old lights but also a pile of blankets at the entrance which we loved!
